Summary
Dr. James Peter Egonyu is an Associate Professor of Agriculture (specialising in entomology) at Busitema University (BU), Uganda. He teaches courses in Agriculture, Entomology, Research Methods and scholarly writing at undergraduate, MSc and PhD levels. Previously, James served as a Research Scientist on edible insects at the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (icipe), Nairobi, Kenya (2019-2023); a Lecturer (Entomology and Research Methods) at Makerere University, Uganda (2016-2019); a Research Officer (Crop Entomologist) at the National Coffee Research Institute, Uganda (2008-2015); and Agricultural Inspector at the Uganda’s Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (2005-2008). James holds a BSc in Agriculture (first-class) and MSc (Crop Science) from Makerere University, and PhD (Agricultural Entomology) from University of Nairobi. He is an Associate Editor of the International Journal of Tropical Insect Science (2018-date); and serves as a peer reviewer for several scientific journals. James has supervised research of 1 PhD and 12 MSc scholars to completion; and published 55 peer reviewed papers.
